    Feeling Good

    Monday, November 13, 2006, 03:36 PM [General]

I started working out again last week (after about a 4 month sabbatical)...and I am always reminded how much better it makes me feel.  So...that got me thinking about other things that make me feel good...a clean house, spending quality time with the boys, reading my Bible, talking to a friend at least once a day, lots of stuff with David (some unmentionable...hee, hee), being outside, Dr. Pepper and something sweet like cookies or cake.  This life is the only life we have...why spend it hypnotized to the TV or stuck in what the world thinks we should do...my new goal is to try and do at least 1 thing that makes me feel good each day.  I know it may sound a tad selfish but the end result will be a much more happier, healthier and fulfilled me and I would say that those around me would benefit by the transformation!

Lessons of Giving from a 5 year old

Tuesday, November 7, 2006, 01:55 PM [About the Kids]

I learned a lesson from Jaxson today.  He was putting money in a change can for missions at our church.  He was looking around the house for any bit of change he could find.  When that was completed, he took out his allowance and put it ALL in the can...no hesitations, no 2nd guesses, no regrets...he happily gave.  I knew how many weeks he had saved his money and I cringed slightly when he put it all in the can...my thought was that he should save some of his money and not give it all but then I realized that his heart was right and my thinking needed some changing.  God wants us to give happily and without reservation (my first lesson).  After he put all of his money in the can, I also had the thought that I wanted to give him more money...I wanted to 'bless' him.  Isn't that what God does for us...He wants to bless us...he wants to give us more than we have but if we selflishly hold onto what we have, are we missing out on His blessings? (my 2nd lesson learned).  Thank you Jaxson for your generous spirt and your sweet, sweet heart.
